Plant losses are caused by agents:

Abiotic (noninfectious)

By far most problems are abiotic !

  1. improper cultural practices
  2. nutrient deficiencies
  3. soil moisture (high or low)
  4. light intensity (high or low)
  5. unfavorable soil pH
  6. lack of aeration
  7. air pollution
  8. mineral toxicity
  9. pesticide toxicity

Biotic (infectious)

If there is a no pattern to the damage suspect a biotic agent.
