Respiration Objectives:

  4. Understand how the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics applies to cells and life.
  5. Understand importance of energy levels in chemical reactions and actions of catalysts and enzymes.
  6. Describe important energy-containing bonds, such as those in ATP and ADP.
  7. Describe how ATP and ADP are used to do work in the cell.
  8. Describe what work a cell needs to do.
  9. Understand the functions and structures associated with the glycolysis.
  10. Understand the functions and structures associated with the Krebs cycle.
  11. Understand the functions and structures associated with the electron transport chain.
